Dudzinski & Miller Named All-Patriot League
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior forward Dave Dudzinski (Elburn, Ill.) and junior forward Malcolm Miller (Laytonsville, Md.) have both been selected to the 2013-2014 All-Patriot League teams in men's basketball, as voted by the conference's head coaches. Dudzinski was named to the first team, while Miller earned a spot on the third team. In addition, freshman guard Anthony Thompson (Glenn Dale, Md.) was chosen to the All-Rookie team.
Dudzinski has averaged a team-best 15.3 points, 7.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocked shots per game this year, while hitting 47.6 percent (161 of 338) of his field goal attempts and 75.2 percent (112 of 149) of his free throws. He finished the regular season ranked first in the league in rebounding, third in scoring, 10th in blocked shots, 12th in free throw percentage and 14th in field goal percentage. Dudzinski has led the team in scoring 13 times this year and scored in double-figures 24 times. Over the course of his career as a Crusader, he has now totaled 1,311 points, 672 rebounds and 88 blocked shots, while connecting on 48.8 percent (475 of 974) of his field goals and 78.1 percent (304 of 389) of his free throws. Dudzinski currently ranks ninth all-time at Holy Cross in career blocked shots, 10th in games started (88) and 20th in points scored.
Miller has averaged 10.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.8 blocked shots and 0.9 steals per game this season, while connecting on 40.3 percent of his three-point field goal attempts (31 of 77) and 76.0 percent of his free throws (73 of 96). He currently stands third in the Patriot League in blocked shots, 10th in rebounding, 10th in free throw percentage, 13th in three-point percentage and 24th in scoring. Miller has led the team in rebounding 11 times and scoring eight times this year, while scoring in double-figures 13 times. During his career with the Crusaders, he has now totaled 522 points, 354 rebounds, 120 assists, 86 blocked shots and 52 steals. Miller currently ranks 10th all-time at Holy Cross in career blocked shots.
Thompson has averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game this year, while making 40.5 percent of his three-point field goal attempts (34 of 84) and 78.9 percent of his free throws (105 of 133). He finished the regular season ranked seventh in the conference in free throw percentage, 12th in three-point percentage and 30th in scoring. Thompson scored in double-figures 12 times on the year, while leading the team in assists 14 times and steals nine times.
Holy Cross (18-12 overall, 12-6 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, March 5, when it plays host to Lehigh in a quarterfinal round game of the Patriot League Tournament. The contest between the Crusaders and the Mountain Hawks is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 p.m.
