WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior forward Malcolm Miller (Laytonsville, Md.) has been named the Patriot League Anaconda Player of the Week, for competition from Feb. 3-9. This marks the first time Miller has received Patriot League Player of the Week honors during his collegiate career.
During Tuesday night's 69-68 victory at Colgate, Miller led the team with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. With only eight seconds left in regulation, he grabbed a key rebound then hit both ends of a one-and-one to give the Crusaders an insurmountable 69-65 lead. Miller followed up that performance by totaling 14 points, five rebounds, two blocks and two steals in Sunday's 66-50 win over Bucknell. On the week, he put up 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.
In 24 games played this season, Miller is now averaging 10.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.8 blocks and 1.0 steals per game, while hitting 75.6 percent (62 of 82) of his free throws. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 458 points, 312 rebounds, 105 assists, 74 blocked shots and 47 steals, and connected on 70.3 percent (109 of 155) of his free throws.
Holy Cross (14-10 overall, 8-4 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 12, when it plays host to Army at 7:00 p.m.
