Justin Burrell Named GoHolyCross.com Crusader Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior guard Justin Burrell (Dumfries, Va.) has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 20-26. Burrell helped lead the Holy Cross men's basketball team to 2-0 record in a pair of road games last week.
During Wednesday night's 59-58 victory at Lafayette, Burrell led the team with 15 points, three rebounds and two steals, including a pair of free throws with 19 seconds left to put the Crusaders up by three. Then in Saturday's 67-52 win at Navy, he totaled 17 points, three rebounds and two assists. Over the course of the two games, Burrell averaged 16.0 points and 3.0 rebounds, while hitting all seven of his free throw attempts.
On the season, Burrell is now averaging 8.9 points, 2.4 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game, while hitting 79.4 percent of his free throws (27 of 34). Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 727 points, 256 assists, 150 rebounds and 46 steals.
Holy Cross (11-9 overall, 5-3 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 29, when it plays host to Loyola (Md.) at 7:00 p.m.
