Men's Basketball Downed By Bucknell 74-57

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell's Mike Muscala totaled 25 points and seven rebounds, to lead the Bison to a 74-57 victory over the Holy Cross men's basketball team at Sojka Pavilion. The Crusaders fall to 11-16 overall and 3-9 in the Patriot League with the loss, while the Bison improve to 23-5 on the season and 10-2 in the conference.

Sophomore guard Justin Burrell (Dumfries, Va.) led the Crusaders with 16 points and three assists. Senior center Phil Beans (Toledo, Ohio) added 15 points and seven rebounds, while freshman guard Cullen Hamilton (Washington, D.C.) chipped in with 10 points and four rebounds.

Bucknell started the game hot, jumping out to an early 7-2 lead after the first two minutes of play. The Bison would later be up by three points (9-6), before using a 9-2 run to take an 18-8 lead. Bucknell eventually extended its advantage to 15 points (29-14) with 4:28 remaining in the first half, before Holy Cross scored eight straight points to get back into the game. Beans scored five of the Crusaders' points during that run. The Bison eventually led 31-24 heading into the locker room.

Muscala scored the first five points of the second half, as Bucknell used an 11-2 run to build its lead back up to double figures (42-26). The Bison lead would stay in double figures for the next several minutes, and the score was eventually 62-49 with 5:33 left in regulation. Bucknell then scored the next eight points to put the game away, eventually posting a 17-point victory.

The Bison held a 40-28 rebounding advantage on the afternoon, and also committed only five turnovers to nine for Holy Cross.

The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 27, when they travel to Army for a 7:00 p.m. game.
