WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross sophomore guard Justin Burrell (Dumfries, Va.) has been named the ECAC Player of the Week, for competition from Dec. 3-9. Burrell was previously selected as the Patriot League / Anaconda Player of the Week.
In two contests last week, Burrell averaged 24.5 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game, while hitting 69.6 percent (16 of 23) of his field goal attempts, 77.8 percent of his three-pointers (seven of nine) and 100.0 percent (10 of 10) of his free throws. He opened the week with a career-high 30 points, five assists and three rebounds in the 83-78 victory at Sacred Heart on Dec. 5. Burrell then totaled 19 points, four assists and two rebounds in the 67-56 win over Dartmouth on Dec. 8.
On the year, Burrell has averaged a team-best 13.4 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 348 points, 133 assists, 81 rebounds and 26 steals, while making 81.8 percent (90 of 110) of his free throws.
Holy Cross (6-4 overall) returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 18, when it travels to San Francisco for a 10:00 p.m. (EST) game.
