Crusaders Picked Third In Patriot League Preseason Poll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Holy Cross men's basketball team has been picked to finish in third  place in the 2011-2012 Patriot League preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors. In addition, senior guard Devin Brown (Baltimore, Md.) was selected to the 2011-2012 preseason All-Patriot League team.

The Crusaders received 73 total points in the conference preseason poll. Bucknell placed first in the poll, with 98 total points and 14 first-place votes, followed by Lehigh in second with 82 points and two first-place votes.

Lafayette finished fourth in the poll with 55 points, while American came in fifth with 47 points. The preseason rankings were rounded out by Colgate (sixth, 44 points), Navy (seventh, 34 points) and Army (eighth, 15 points).

Holy Cross is scheduled to open the 2011-2012 regular season on Friday, Nov. 11, when it travels to the College of Charleston for a 7:30 p.m. game.
