Keister Named to CoSIDA / Capital One Academic All-District Team

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior center Andrew Keister (Galloway, N.J.), a member of the Holy Cross men's basketball team, has been selected to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District I squad, it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The team is comprised of players from Division I schools in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

In 18 games played this season, Keister has averaged 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest, while hitting 49.4 percent (79 of 160) of his shots from the floor and 67.6 percent (46 of 68) of his free throws. He has scored in double figures 13 times this year with three double-doubles, while leading the team in scoring five times and in rebounding 11 times. Keister currently ranks third in the Patriot League in rebounding, seventh in field goal percentage, 13th in free throw percentage and 16th in scoring. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has now totaled 816 points and 648 rebounds, while making 51.5 percent (328 of 637) of his field goal attempts and posting 22 double-doubles. In the classroom, Keister owns a 3.44 grade point average with a major in History.

By earning Academic All-District honors, Keister will now be on the ballot for Academic All-America honors. The Capital One Academic All-America team will be announced on Feb. 22.

Holy Cross (4-17 overall, 3-4 Patriot League) returns to action this Saturday, Feb. 5, when it travels to Lafayette for a 1:00 p.m. game.
