WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior center Eric Meister (Boalsburg, Pa.), a member of the Holy Cross men's basketball team, is the 2009-2010 recipient of the Richard J. Maloney Award. The award was presented at the 55th Annual Varsity Club Dinner, held at the Hogan Campus Center on Saturday, May 8.
The Maloney Award has been presented annually to the men's basketball player who best exemplifies Mr. Maloney's spirit and energy as a loyal contributor to the program, since 1981.
One of the Crusaders' captains this season, Meister ranked second on the team with an average of 5.6 rebounds per game, in addition to averaging 5.5 points per contest, hitting 53.1 percent (76 of 143) of his field goal attempts and blocking a team-high 21 shots. A 2009 All-Patriot League Tournament selection, Meister finished his collegiate career with 562 points, 521 rebounds, 79 blocked shots and a 51.5 field goal percentage (241 of 468).
