Andrew Keister Named Patriot League Player Of The Week
WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior forward Andrew
Keister (Galloway, N.J.) has been named the Patriot League /
Anaconda Player of the Week, for competition from Feb. 15-21. This
marks the second time Keister has been named the Patriot League
Player of the Week during his collegiate career, as he previously
earned the honor on Feb. 9, 2009.
In two contests last week, Keister averaged 18.5 points, 16.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, while hitting 56.0 percent (14 of 25) of his field goal attempts and 75.0 percent (nine of 12) of his free throws. He opened the week by tying his season-high with 22 points, pulling down 14 rebounds and handing out four assists in a narrow 83-80 loss at Navy on Feb. 17. Keister then totaled 15 points and tied his career-high with 18 rebounds in the 64-51 victory over American on Feb. 21.
Overall this year, Keister has averaged 10.1 points and a Patriot League best 9.4 rebounds per game. He has also posted a Patriot League high of 11 double-doubles on the season, including both games last week. Over the course of his collegiate career, Keister has totaled 565 points and 472 rebounds, while making 51.9 percent (231 of 445) of his field goal attempts.
Holy Cross (8-19 overall, 5-7 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 24, when it plays host to Colgate at 7:00 p.m.
