Baseball Has 10 Selections To Academic All-League Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross baseball squad has placed 10 student-athletes on the 2008 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by league officials. Leading the Crusaders were senior pitcher Tim Thran (Fall River, Mass.) and junior outfielder Billy Cupelo (Franklin, Mass.), who were both selected to the Academic Honor Roll for the third consecutive year. Holy Cross' 10 total selections to the Academic Honor Roll were the third most in the conference.
In addition to Thran and Cupelo, representing the Crusaders were senior first baseman Kyle Lister (Lincoln, R.I.), senior pitcher Mike Thater (Danbury, Conn.), junior third baseman Ryan Anderson (Berkley, Mass.), sophomore pitcher Tommy Arrigg (Andover, Mass.), sophomore third baseman Matt Perry (Sudbury, Mass.), sophomore pitcher Dmitri Seredenko (Queens, N.Y.), freshman pitcher Steve Anderson (Amesbury, Mass.) and freshman designated hitter Nick Ciardiello (Edison, N.J.).
A total of 61 student-athletes from baseball teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
