Dan Seip Receives Ray Dobens Award

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior pitcher Dan Seip (North Carver, Mass.), a member of the Holy Cross baseball team, has received the 2009 Ray Dobens Award. The award was presented at the 54th annual Holy Cross Varsity Club dinner, held at the Hogan Campus Center on Satruday, May 2.

The Dobens Award is presented to the most improved player on the Crusader baseball team.

Seip has turned into one of the top starting pitchers for the Crusaders this season, posting a 3-3 record with a 5.10 earned run average and a team-best 37 strikeouts. He has pitched a team-high 54-2/3 innings so far this season, including a pair of complete games in nine starts. Over the course of his collegiate career, Seip now has a 12-13 record with a 6.02 earned run average and 133 strikeouts.
