WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore righthanded pitcher Mike Miller (Wayzata, Minn.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 25-May 1. Miller threw a complete game shutout as the Holy Cross baseball team posted a 1-0 victory over Bucknell on Saturday, in the opener of a four-game series.
Against the Bison, Miller allowed only three hits and one walk in seven innings of work, while striking out a season-high nine batters. The performance marked his fourth complete game of the season, and the first shutout of his career at Holy Cross.
On the season, Miller has posted a 4-3 record with a 3.88 earned run average and 46 strikeouts over 51 innings. He leads the team in victories, strikeouts and innings pitched, while ranking second in ERA.
The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, May 3, when they travel to Rhode Island for a 3:00 p.m. game.
The is the final Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week selection of the 2004-2005 school year. The award will return in September of 2005.
