WORCESTER, Mass. - The no-hitter by Holy Cross senior pitcher Scott Hampe (Dedham, Mass.) has been named a Spotlight Performance of the Week by PINGBASEBALL.COM. This is the second national honor that Hampe has received as he was named the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week on April 9 by Collegiate Baseball. Hampe threw his first collegiate no-hitter in the 4-0 seven-inning victory over Lehigh on Saturday, April 7. The no-hitter is the 10th in Holy Cross history.
Hampe was outstanding as he pitched seven no-hit innings with four strikeouts. He is now 2-1 on the season with a team-leading 2.25 ERA.
The Crusaders return to action today, Tuesday, April 10, when they travel to Brookline, Mass., to take on Northeastern at 3:00 p.m.
