Norm Roth Named Crusader Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior outfielder Norm Roth (Orange, Conn.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from April 2-8. Last week, Roth helped lead the Holy Cross baseball team to a 4-1 record, including a four-game sweep of Lehigh in Patriot League action.

During the four-game set against Lehigh, Roth went seven for 13 at the plate (.538) with at least one hit in each contest and three multi-hit games. In the Saturday doubleheader, he had two hits and scored two runs in each contest. Then in the doubleheader on Sunday, Roth totaled three hits, including a pair of doubles, and three runs batted in.

On the season, Roth is now batting .317 with five doubles, two home runs and 14 runs batted in. Over the course of his career at Holy Cross, he is hitting .300 with 16 doubles, five home runs and 37 runs batted in.

The Crusaders (6-14 overall, 4-4 Patriot League) return to action on Tuesday, April 10, when they travel to Northeastern for a 3:00 p.m. game.
