  • The Holy Cross baseball team travels to Connecticut on Tuesday, March 24, for a game scheduled at 3:00 p.m. The Crusaders will then return home for five games, hosting Boston College on Wednesday, March 25 and Lehigh in the Patriot League season opener with a four-game series on March 28-29.

  • Junior pitcher Matt Shapiro (Raynham, Mass.) led Holy Cross to a 3-1 road win at Qunnipiac on Sunday, March 22. Shapiro allowed just one run on six hits in seven and 2/3 innings pitched, picking up his first win of the season.

  • Junior shortstop John Sills (Milton, Mass.) led Holy Cross’ offense in last week’s seven games played, batting .464 (13-28) with five runs scored, five RBI, five stolen bases and two doubles.

  • Junior third baseman Matt Perry (Sudbury, Mass.) also had a strong performance in last week’s seven-game series, going 9-for-24 at the plate (.375) with five RBI, four runs scored, three doubles,  one home run and one stolen base.
