CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Holy Cross baseball team has been picked to finish sixth in the 2007 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Army was picked to finish in first place with seven first place votes and 46 total points. Lafayette and Navy were tied for second with 34 points, followed by Bucknell (30 total points), Lehigh (24 total points) and Holy Cross (12 total points).
The Crusaders will kick off the 2007 season on February 17-18, in Beaumont, Texas, when they play three games against Lamar with two on Saturday and one on Sunday. Holy Cross will then travel to North Carolina on March 3-8 to take on Duke, Campbell and Davidson. The Crusaders first home game will be on Wednesday, March 14 versus Assumption at Fitton Field at 3:00 p.m. Holy Cross will be led by its experienced group of 10 seniors.
