COMPTON, Calif.- On July 17, rising sophomore Nick Lovullo (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) played in the California Collegiate League's All-Star game at the MLB Urban Youth Baseball Academy Field. The infielder played second base for the CCL's North All-Stars during the game. Lovullo batted 0-for-1 during the game making one plate appearance in the bottom of the ninth inning. The North All-Stars fell to the South All-Stars 3-2 despite a two-run ninth inning rally, including a run scored on an error during Lovullo's at-bat.
Lovullo has played 27 games, mostly in the infield this summer for the Conejo Oaks out of Thousand Oaks, California. Throughout the summer, Lovullo holds a .308 batting average. Lovullo has 33 hits including nine doubles and a grand slam. His nine doubles are the fourth most in the league and the second most on the team.
