WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross baseball head coach Greg DiCenzo has been named the Division I New England Baseball Coach of the Year by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association, while senior southpaw Nate Koneski (North Dighton, Mass.) and junior closer John Colella (Herndon, Va.) have been chosen to represent Holy Cross at the 38th annual NEIBA All-Star Game. Due to the rain on Monday, June 4, the game has been rescheduled to Monday, June 11 at Brockton Rox Stadium in Brockton, Mass. Koneski was named to the first team for the first time in his career while Colella earned second team accolades for the second straight year.
DiCenzo was honored by the NEIBA for the first time while at the helm of the Holy Cross program and recently took home Worcester Area Coach of the Year accolades. Colella and Koneski were picked amongst 24 other players from Division I schools in the region and will represent the University team at the game. The University team will play against the College Division Team, which is made up of 13 Division II standouts and 16 Division III senior all-stars.
Brockton Rox Park is home of the Brockton Rox, a team affiliated with the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). Game time for the rescheduled contest will be 7 p.m.. Tickets will cost five dollars. For a full list of the Division I All-Star team selections go here.
