WORCESTER, Mass. – Three Holy Cross baseball players, including senior Nate Koneski (North Dighton, Mass.) and juniors Jordan Enos (Stockton, Calif.) and Patrick Puentes (East Greenbush, N.Y.) have been selected to the 2012 Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted on by league sports information directors. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
Koneski was named to the All-Academic squad for the second consecutive season as he recorded a 3.40 GPA. Graduating in May with a degree in Chemisty, Koneski is a three-time Patriot League Honor Roll selection and received a Clavius Scholarship for Chemistry academic excellence while at Holy Cross. He was recently named to the first team All-Patriot League as he leads the team and Patriot League with a career-best 71 strikeouts.
Enos, a Mathematics and Economics major, led the team with a 3.59 GPA this past season. He has made the Dean's List three times and is also a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection. The first baseman was recently named to the second team All-Patriot League and earned the team's Most Improved Player at the team banquet.
Puentes, a Psychology and Economics major, earned All-Academic honors from the league for the first time this season. He has been selected to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll twice. He was named to the first team All-Patriot League for the first time in his career earlier this week and currently leads the squad with a .357 batting average.
The Academic All-Patriot League team has been added for all sports beginning in the 2010-2011 season to honor additional student-athletes who excel both on and off the field.
