Baseball Picked Fourth In Patriot League Preseason Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross baseball team was selected to place fourth in the 2012 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. The poll was as close as it gets, with reigning Patriot League champions Navy and Bucknell tying for first with 39 points apiece.

Navy earned five first-place votes while Bucknell picked up four. Army was selected to finish third, finishing one point behind the Mids and Bison with 38 points and one first-place vote. Holy Cross followed in fourth with 29 points and two first-place votes. Rounding out the poll was Lafayette (17 points) and Lehigh (16 points).

The Crusaders open up the 2012 slate in just nine days, traveling to the sixth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies from Feb. 24-26. The first contest will be held on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. EST. All games will be held at Olsen Field in College Station, Texas.
