Holy Cross baseball head coach Greg DiCenzo and the rest of the 2012 baseball team will host the eighth annual Leadoff Dinner on Sunday, Jan. 29 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Hogan Campus Center Ballroom. This year's alumni honorees will be the 1952 National Championship team.

Current first base coach of the Toronto Blue Jays, Torey Lovullo, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Lovullo has a long history in baseball, as he also managed the Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox in 2010. Drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the fifth round of the 1987 Major League Baseball Draft, Lovullo made his major league debut with the Tigers on September 10, 1988 and appeared in his final major league game on October 3, 1999 for the Philadelphia Phillies. He played one season in Japan for the Yakult Swallows in 2000. He played college baseball for UCLA 1984-1988 and ranks second on the Bruins' career records list for at-bats, and runs scored.

The evening will also include a silent auction of sports memorabilia, a social hour at 4:00 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 5:00 p.m. Members of the 2012 Crusader baseball team will be on hand with their families as well as many other Crusader alumni and friends.

Tickets for the dinner are $85 each or $65 for former Holy Cross baseball players and friends from the classes of 2006-2011. All proceeds will directly fund this year's spring trips. In order to reserve a ticket, please fill out the registration form and send to the baseball office by Monday, Jan. 23.
