WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross baseball head coach Greg DiCenzo has announced that juniors Matt Croglio (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and Chris Sintetos (Bethesda, Md.) have been named co-captains for the 2012 season.

Croglio will lead the team on the mound in his senior season. As a junior, he posted a 6.97 ERA and tied the team-high with 10 starts from the bump. He has made a total of 35 appearances in his career, making 27 starts and has pitched 121.1 total innings. He has also struck out 74 batters.

Sintetos played in 25 games, including seven starts in the outfield as a junior. He has played in 83 career games, making 37 starts. He knocked in five runs last season and has 15 RBI in his career. He scored a career-high eight runs last year and has scored 23 times in his three-year career. He has a career batting average of .238 and a .326 on-base percentage.

"Both players are two of the hardest working individuals in this program," said DiCenzo. "I am extremely excited to watch them lead Holy Cross baseball into the 2012 season."

Both captains will be participating in baseball summer leagues during the offseason. Croglio will play for the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide in the New England Collegiate Baseball League while Sintetos will play for the Sag Harbor Whalers of the Hampton Collegiate League.
