WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior baseball captain Matt Perry (Sudbury, Mass.) has been named the Patriot League Player of the Week after his performances in the team’s six games from April 5-11. Perry went 9-for-22 at the plate on the week with 10 runs scored and 10 RBI, including his first triple and home run this season.
Perry collects the league honor for the second time in his career and first time this season. In last week’s action, Perry also went 7-for-15 with six runs and eight RBI in the series against Bucknell, including a five-RBI game to cap the four-game set, helping his team move into third place in the league standings. He had four walks and played without an error while starting each game at third base.
On the season, Perry is batting .345 with a total of 38 hits and 26 RBI. He has scored 28 runs to lead the team and has started in every game thus far.
Holy Cross (14-13) will look to continue its three-game winning streak with a home game on Tuesday, April 13 against Central Connecticut (10-11). First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. at Fitton Field in Worcester, Mass.
