WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross baseball head coach Greg DiCenzo and the rest of the 2010 baseball team will host the sixth annual Leadoff Dinner on Saturday, Jan. 30 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Hogan Campus Center Ballroom. This year's alumni honoree will be Ron Perry Jr. '80, a former Holy Cross baseball and basketball standout.
Current Senior Vice President/Assistant General Manager of the Boston Red Sox and prominent Amherst baseball alum, Ben Cherington, will serve as the keynote speaker for the event. Cherington graduated from Amherst College in 1996 and continued on to earn a Masters Degree in Sports Management from Massachusetts. Also a former assistant coach with the Amherst College baseball team, Cherington had a brief stint as the Co-General Manager of the Boston Red Sox in 2005.
The evening will also include a silent auction of sports memorabilia, a social hour at 5:00 p.m. and a buffet dinner at 6:00 p.m. Members of the 2010 Crusader baseball team will be on hand with their families as well as many other Crusader alumni and friends.
Tickets for the dinner are $90 each or $60 for former Holy Cross baseball players and friends from the classes of 2003-2009. All proceeds will benefit the Holy Cross baseball program. In order to reserve a ticket, please fill out the registration form and send to the baseball office by Monday, Jan. 25.
