WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross junior third baseman Matt Perry (Sudbury, Mass.) has been selected second team All-New England, as announced by the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association. He also tied school single-season marks with 16 doubles, 49 games played and 49 games started.
Over the first three years of his collegiate career, Perry owns a .343 batting average with 36 doubles, nine home runs, 81 runs scored and 64 runs batted in.
Holy Cross finished the 2009 season with an overall record of 22-27, and finished third in the Patriot League with an 11-7 mark in conference games. The Crusaders, who won 21 games in 2008, finished with at least 20 victories in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1922 and 1923.
