Patriot League greets Boston

Holy Cross teams currently bus 165 miles one way to play their nearest Patriot League rival, Army, located in West Point, N.Y. That will change in 2013. Last week, the Patriot League announced that Boston University, situated a quick 40 miles down the Mass. Pike from Worcester, will become a full member for the 2013-14 academic year. . .

The Holy Cross graduate and former Dighton-Rehoboth left-handed star was selected Wednesday in the 19th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Seattle Mariners. “I was pretty surprised,” Koneski said at D-R’s 11-3 victory over Nauset on Wednesday. . .
