Matt Bellomo was in a position he didn't want to be last year: A
spectator on the Holy Cross sideline. Last summer Bellomo was
poised to play a big role in the Holy Cross offense as a starting
running back for the defending Patriot League champions. The former
Tri-Valley League MVP and Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year
at Holliston High was in boot-camp shape and eager to begin his
junior season when he tore a hamstring early in preseason camp. .

With only 10 boys and six girls present for the Chris Rojik Summer
Camp last week at Sacred Heart High School, Camp Director Chris
Rojik and his staff got to have a little more one-on-one
instructional time with his players this year at camp. “This
is my fourth-year coming here,” Sacred Heart sophomore Sam
Boiles boasted during the final day of the camp. . .
HC's Randolph hopes to Rush to pro success

Dominic Randolph’s dream of playing in the National
Football League is not over. Far from it. The former Holy Cross
record-setting quarterback is nearing the end of his first season
with the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League, and he believes
his experience indoors over the last four months has helped him
become a better player. . .

bay

Scott Yeomans found a way to stay calm Saturday during the
grueling challenge of swimming across Casco Bay. Yeomans could have
sunk into a panic in the middle of the open water at the Cyrus
Hagge YMCA Peaks to Portland Swim. When those moments started to
set in, he looked to Beth Ansheles, his guide in a nearby kayak. .

It is highly unusual for three college track captains to hail from
the North Shore, but that's the situation at Holy Cross next
season. Leading the Crusader women will be three outstanding
seniors, Lexie Culkeen of Beverly/Bishop Fenwick, Katelyn Hartnett
of Danvers and Paige Sutherland, who ran for Pentucket Regional
High School and also spends a lot of time at her mother's home in
Peabody. . .
Aloisi getting back to
basics

As a high school and college athlete, Nashua’s Laura Aloisi
was a tireless worker who has spent hours on her own refining her
skills and conditioning her body. It paid off. Her high school
teams, with her leading the way at point guard, won three state
championships in four years. Aloisi went on to an outstanding
college career at Holy Cross, interrupted only by a serious knee
injury. . .
