Head Women's Tennis Coach - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead NCAA Division I women’s tennis program by recruiting and developing qualified  student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches, and organizing schedules.  The head coach must conduct the program in a manner that recognize the primacy of academics by recruiting, supporting, and retaining student-athletes who will be competitive in the Patriot League. The head coach must ensure that the women’s tennis program operates in compliance with all College, Patriot League and NCAA rules and regulations. 

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required.  Previous coaching experience required, preferably at the Division I level.  Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.  Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. 15 hours/week; 6 months/year.

Director of Athletics Marketing & Special Events - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Director of Athletics Marketing and Special Events is responsible for the creation and the execution of athletic marketing plans with a focus on generating revenue and attendance for all Division 1 sport programs. Developing and executing the department strategic athletic marketing and business plan, which includes but not limited to: revenue generation, community engagement, and event experience with a dual purpose of enhancing Holy Cross’s brand awareness and increasing consumer affinity. 

Activate overall marketing plan for athletics, including ticket sales, attendance, community outreach, branding, and lead generation.  Generate increases in season tickets sales, retention, single game ticket sales, and group ticket sales.  Direct and implement all advertising elements, including online, print, digital, community, and partnership components of the athletic marketing plan. Creating in-game activities, promotions and an exciting atmosphere to enhance the enjoyment for attendees and improve the home field/court competitive advantage for Crusader teams.  Generating increased student attendance and engagement for all athletic teams.  Demonstrating an understanding of customer and alumni behavior and strategizing initiatives and communication points  to increase customer satisfaction and retention metrics as defined by the annual athletic department customer survey.  Development of sport specific marketing campaigns, which will include promotional ideas balanced in managing and advising the Pep Band, Cheerleaders, and Mascots who are required to attend specific games, as well as, working with student activity groups to organize performances.  Oversee activation of a comprehensive social media and web presence campaign, including GoHolyCross.com Auction.  Act as the primary athletic marketing contact for coaches and sport administrators.  Direct and coordinate all revenue related special events, including award show, golf tournaments, and team alumni events.  Coordinate marketing messages in conjunction with all campus entities, including the College of Marketing & Communications, Development and Community Relations.  Other marketing responsibilities as assigned.  Oversee the operational activities of the Graduate Intern for Athletics Marketing.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree required in related field; 2-3 years of experience in a sports or entertainment position (previous internship applicable).  Some experience in professional or intercollegiate athletic environment.  Ability to take complex ideas and present them in a manner that is easy to consume and share.  Experience managing a small team and working cross-functionally to achieve department goals.  Strong public speaking skills and experience presenting to large audiences.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines.  Strong quantitative analytical ability.

Athletic Trainer - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Athletic Trainer is responsible for administration of athletic training care to student-athletes including prevention, emergency care and rehabilitation elements.

Provide the best possible medical care for the student athletes and visiting athletic teams.  Provides injury evaluation, treatment, and first-aid care for assigned teams, events, and day to day on-call assignments.   Plans and implements rehabilitation programs for serious injuries or post-surgical conditions.  Keeps and maintains medical records for each athlete.   Maintains the inventory for medical supplies and over the counter medications.  Assists in the supervision of athletic training students in the training room and at the practice or competition facility.  Engaging in effective written and oral communication with members of the coaching staff, athletic administration, and sports medicine staff.  Assist with established guidelines of the health care of profession and medical community, promoting a communication network for student-athletes, parents, coaches and medical personnel.  Organization and completion of student-athlete pre-participation physical examinations; coordinating timely referrals and communicating with the Team Physicians regarding student-athlete injuries and medical condition and plan of care.  Working with Athletic Training Education Program students to set up necessary emergency and safety equipment for practice and competition; Being familiar with Departmental Emergency Plan for practice and competition and be prepared to initiate during practice and competition as well as provide CPR/AED and on field extrication.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's required; Master’s degree preferred.  Experience managing multiple tasks, and while working proficiently under pressure.  Athletic Training Certificate required.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines. 40 hours/week; 12 months/year

Assistant Football Coach - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Oversee a position (Offense or Defense) as assigned by the Head Coach. Assist with all facets of NCAA Division I football program by recruiting qualified prospective student-athletes, providing skill instruction to student-athletes, and preparing team for competition and practice.  Assistant coach must perform duties in compliance with all College, Patriot League, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Supports management of team academically and athletically. Tracks student-athlete academic progress; organizes and conducts practice activities. Prepares team and opponent video analysis; and maintains records as required.  Evaluates and recruits student-athletes. Identifies talented, academically qualified prospective student-athletes and effectively communicates with coaches, prospects and parents.  Respects department’s commitment to excellence, integrity, respect and leadership. Collaborates with head coach to develop annual goals for program. Attends workshops, training sessions and meetings as required by the College and the conference.  Assist with fundraising, marketing and promotional activities, administration of sports camps and/or clinics, and other duties as directed by head coach and/or Athletics Administration.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree required. Previous coaching experience preferred, preferably at the Division I level.  Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required.  Computer and video editing skills strongly encouraged. Hours: 25.5 Hours/ 38 Weeks

Athletic Media Relations Assistant - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Athletics Media Relations Assistant is responsible for assisting with the execution of the media and public relations plans for all 27 of our Division 1 programs. This position is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of GoHolyCross.com. Serve as the primary media relations contact for select sports with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, working as the primary liaison with media relations contacts; writing press releases; championship preparation and coverage; and administering athletic (regular season and postseason) and academic awards programs in those sports.

Assist with updating social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+).  Provide administrative support to the communications department, including but not limited to, compiling schedules for conference website; updating record books; and compiling data.  Work closely with day-to-day media relations duties regarding Women’s Soccer,  Men’s and Women’s Track and Field, Men’s and Women’s Swimming, Cross Country, Women’s Hockey and Softball.  Design and edit Holy Cross publications for all assigned sports and other sports with a focus on  records books and Year in Review.  Creating original content for the official website GoHolyCross.com and various social media platforms, including but not limited to writing feature stories, Q&As and more.  Provide pertinent information to assist in production of games and studio shows for the Patriot League Networks.  Expectation to proactively pitch Holy Cross storylines.  Assist with maintaining official website and various social media platforms.  Assist with the Players of the Week selection process.  Archival of press releases and statistics for historical purposes. Assist with phone and mail inquiries from media and general public.  Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.  One to two years’ experience working in the media relations/public relations.  A sports background is preferred.  Proficient at Microsoft Suite applications, knowledgeable in desktop publishing, preferably InDesign.  Experience with Automated Scorebook and Stat Crew statistical software preferred.  Experience with web management, social media platforms and content publishing, preferred.

Athletic Marketing Assistant - College of the Holy Cross, (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist with the creation of the overall marketing strategy including digital, TV, radio, print social media, mobile etc. Create plans that are aligned with the College Marketing and Communications overall marketing plan and priorities for promotional items, events and Crusader Athletics Fund initiatives. Assist with research efforts to identify most effective channels to reach a targeted audience. Coordinate content from internal departments and to send marketing and communication based emails, including Ticket Sales information, Community Newsletters, e-newsletters, etc. Assist with coordination advertising, brand awareness and creative.

Assist in development of a media/advertising campaign and strategy based upon assigned budgets.  Coordinate all in-game entertainment initiatives set forth by the department.  Working with internal departments, i.e. media relations and video services, to focus on different avenues of marketing activation.  Work to build relationships in the market with the key decision makers and partners in the political and business communities.  Develop strong relationships with these local partners in all aspects and create ties with local sponsors and retailers.  Work with local media partners and venues to create and implement marketing strategies, sales and creative promotions.  Create and analyze various reports on event sales and trends. Develop the best experience strategy for our fans; before, during and after an event. In Graduate school, attempting to get in to Graduate school or post graduate looking for experience.  Must be able to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.  Proficient at Microsoft Suite applications, knowledgeable in desktop publishing, preferably InDesign.  Strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to identify trends, draw valid conclusions and make insightful recommendations.  
Strong quantitative analysis skills to interpret data and mine for insights.  Excellent communication and presentation skills a must- both written and verbal.  Advanced grammar and copywriting ability with a strong creative sensibility.  1 year marketing experience in marketing, advertising and/or media buying. Experience evaluating and analyzing media buys with metrics.  1 year marketing experience in marketing, advertising and/or media buying.  Experience with market research a plus.
