Head Equipment Manager - College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Head Equipment Manager is responsible for meeting the equipment needs of Holy Cross' 27 varsity athletic programs. This position is responsible for ensuring that all student-athletes and coaches are outfitted in appropriate apparel, equipment, and footwear. The position has a particular focus (seasonally) on daily operations in the sport of football. 

Oversee and manage the equipment operations of a Division I athletic program with 27 programs.  Oversee the purchase, issuance, maintenance, inventory, collection and storage of practice and game equipment and apparel.  Manage all equipment vendor relationships and contracts to ensure strong customer service, fulfillment of orders, and adherence to contractual benefits for Holy Cross.  Plan, manage, and forecast accurate equipment budgets for each varsity program with input from the respective head coaches.  Oversee and direct the Assistant Equipment Manager to aid in the operations of the equipment room.  Manage and execute daily laundry needs of all varsity programs.  Fit student-athletes for equipment according to NOSCAE and manufacturer standards.  Establish and maintain policies and procedures for the operation of the equipment room.  Hire and manage work-study students to aid in the operation of the equipment function as needed.  Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree Required coupled with 3-5 years of relevant experience in athletic equipment.  Experience with football at the Division 1 level required.  AEMA Certification necessary.  Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations.  Experience with a computerized inventory tracking system preferred.

Head Women's Golf Coach - College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lead NCAA Division I women's golf program by recruiting and developing qualified student-athletes, supervising assistant coaches, and organizing schedules.  The head coach must conduct the program in a manner that recognize the primacy of academics by recruiting, supporting, and retaining student-athletes who will be competitive in the Patriot League.  The head coach must ensure that the women's golf program operates in compliance with all College, Patriot League and NCAA rules and regulations.

Provides leadership to team that achieves academic and athletic success on a consistent basis.  Head coach monitors academic progress; develops training programs that are safe and effective for student-athletes; schedules games and practices in accordance with College policies; coordinates travel arrangements; oversees selection of team equipment and apparel; coordinates video analysis; develops game strategies; completes reports; and maintains records as required. Coordinates recruitment of student-athletes.  Head coach identifies talented,  academically qualified prospective student-athletes; effectively communicates with high school coaches, prospects and parents; and supports key applicants within admissions and financial aid offices. Provides leadership to program.  Maintains an environment that reflects the department's commitment to excellence, integrity, respect and leadership.  Collaborates with sport administrator and/or Director of Athletics to develop annual goals for program.  Communicates program's needs and concerns responsibly and in timely manner.  Attends workshops, training sessions and meetings required for head coaches by the College and the conference. Responsible for administration of all phases of the program, including monitoring team budget, completing expense reports, and conducting sports camps and/or clinics. Participates in marketing and fundraising initiatives.  Engages in special events to generate interest within the College community, alumni, and region. Oversees operational activities of assistant coaches and prepares annual evaluations for direct reports. Performs other duties as assigned by sport supervisor and/or Director of Athletics.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree required. Previous coaching experience required, preferably at the Division I level.  Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.  Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills required. Computer and video editing skills strongly encouraged.

Athletic Media Relations Assistant - College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Athletics Media Relations (AMR) Assistant is responsible for assisting with the execution of the media and public relations plans for all 27 of our Division 1 programs. This position is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of GoHolyCross.com. Serve as the primary media relations contact for select sports with responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, working as the primary liaison with media relations contacts; writing press releases; championship preparation and coverage; and administering athletic (regular season and postseason) and academic awards programs in those sports.

Provide administrative support to the communications department, including but not limited to, compiling schedules for conference website; updating record books; and compiling data.  Work closely with day-to-day media relations duties regarding Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Track and Field, Men's and Women's Swimming, Cross Country, Women's Hockey and Softball. Design and edit Holy Cross publications for all assigned sports and other sports with a focus on records books and Year in Review. Creating original content for the official website GoHolyCross.com and various social media platforms, including but not limited to writing feature stories, Q&As and more. Provide pertinent information to assist in production of games and studio shows for the Patriot League Networks. Proactively pitch Holy Cross storyline. Direct and coordinate all revenue related special events, including award show, golf tournaments, and team alumni events.  Assist with the Players of the Week selection process.  Archival of press releases and statistics for historical purposes.  Assist with updating social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+).


REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism or related field.  Some experience in professional or intercollegiate athletic environment.  One to two years' experience working in the media relations/public relations.  Experience managing a small team and working cross-functionally to achieve department goals.  Strong research and analytical skills, with an ability to identify trends, draw valid conclusions and make insightful recommendations.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines.  Strong quantitative analytical ability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Automated Scorebook and Stat Crew statistical software preferred.  Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite Products.  Experience with web management, social media platforms and content publishing, preferred. In Graduate school, attempting to get in to Graduate school or post graduate looking for experience, preferred.

Athletic Marketing Assistant - College of the Holy Cross (Worcester, Mass.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assist with the creation of the overall marketing strategy including digital, TV, radio, print social media, mobile etc. Create plans that are aligned with the College Marketing and Communications overall marketing plan and priorities for promotional items, events and Crusader Athletics Fund initiatives. Assist with research efforts to identify most effective channels to reach a targeted audience. Coordinate content from internal departments and to send marketing and communication based emails, including Ticket Sales information, Community Newsletters, e-newsletters, etc. Assist with coordination advertising, brand awareness and creative.

Developing and executing the department's strategic marketing and business plan, which includes but not limited to: Revenue generation, Community engagement, and event experience with a dual purpose goal of enhancing Holy Cross's brand awareness and increasing consumer affinity.  Activate overall marketing plan for athletics, including ticket sales, attendance, community outreach, branding, and lead generation.  Generate increases in season tickets sales, retention, single game ticket sales, and group ticket sales. Direct and Implement all advertising elements, including online, print, digital, community, and partnership components of the marketing plan.  Creating in-game activities, promotions and an exciting atmosphere to enhance the enjoyment for attendees and improve the home field/court competitive advantage for Crusader teams. Generating increased student attendance and engagement for all athletic teams. Demonstrating an understanding of customer and alumni behavior and strategizing initiatives and communication points to increase customer satisfaction and retention metrics as defined by the annual athletic department customer survey.  Development of sport specific marketing campaigns, which will include promotional ideas balanced in a managing and advising the Pep Band, Cheerleaders, and Mascots who are required to attend specific games, as well as, working with student activity groups to organize performances.  Oversee activation of a comprehensive social media and web presence campaign, including GoHolyCross.com Auction.  Act as the primary marketing contact for coaches and sport administrators.  Direct and coordinate all revenue related special events, including award show, golf tournaments, team alumni events, Coordinate marketing messages in conjunction with all campus entities, including Marketing & Communication, Development and Community Relations. Other marketing responsibilities as assigned. Oversee the operational activities of the Graduate Intern for Athletics Marketing.


REQUIREMENTS:
