WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross has named Alicia Caswell and Ansel Garvey assistant athletic trainers, it was announced by head athletic trainer Anthony Cerundolo.
Caswell will work with the Holy Cross women’s basketball, women’s soccer and baseball teams, while assisting with a number of other sports. She spent the last two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Massachusetts, where she worked on a daily basis with the field hockey and baseball squads. Caswell was also responsible for orientation and advising of new graduate assistants, and coordinated the undergraduate student assistant program. She was previously a part of the Ithaca College athletic training education program, and served as an intern for the Elmira Pioneers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. A member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Caswell received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Ithaca in 2011, and her master’s degree in kinesiology from Massachusetts in 2013.
Garvey will work with the Crusaders’ football and men’s ice hockey squads, in addition to assisting with a number of other sports. He served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the University of Massachusetts for the last year, working with the football and softball teams. He also managed travel responsibilities for student assistants and travel equipment for football. Garvey previously spent time as an intern athletic trainer at Holy Cross during the 2011-2012 school year, working with the volleyball and men’s lacrosse teams. A member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, he received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Springfield College in 2011. Garvey is on track to earn his master’s degree in kinesiology from Massachusetts in May of 2014.
