WORCESTER, Mass. - The College of the Holy Cross has named Meredith Cook as an assistant director of athletic media relations, it was announced by athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., and director of athletic media relations Charles Bare. She will serve as the department's primary media contact for the women's basketball team, in addition to working with the baseball, field hockey, men's soccer, men's and women's golf and men's and women's tennis squads.
Cook spent the last year as the public relations coordinator for PowerFitness in Boston, Mass. She designed the fitness center's website and newsletter, and generated all public and member relations initiatives for the club. Previously, Cook was a media relations assistant at Boston College during the 2007-2008 school year. She served as the primary contact for the softball, golf, track and cross country teams, in addition to being the secondary contact for the nationally-ranked football program.
Cook earned her bachelor's degree in speech communications from the University of Georgia in 2007. During her days as an undergraduate, she was a student assistant in the Georgia sports communications office.
