Larkin was an outstanding quarterback with the Crusaders, serving as a starter for three years and the captain of the 1904 team. His performance is all the more remarkable considering that Larkin was just 5'7" and his weighed 130 pounds. In fact, Larkin was so small while a freshman that he was coxswain for the Wachusett Boat Club that finished second in a national regatta at Lake Quinsigamond. Following his graduation, Larkin coached at Worcester Academy and then was the head coach at Holy Cross. His Crusader teams were 18-25-8 in six seasons. He passed away in 1960.
