Biography
Arcand played four sports as a freshman at Holy Cross --football, hockey, track and baseball., but focused on football and baseball. On the gridiron he was the starter at end for three years, averaging 58 minutes of playing time per game in his junior year. He caught 14 passes for 277 yards in 1955, and was named Captain of the 1956 team which beat Boston College 7-0. He was an All-East choice as a senior. On the baseball diamond, Arcand was a first baseman and led the team in batting, runs scored and runs batted in during his senior year. He earned the 1957 Crusader of the Year award.
