A small but tenacious forward, Hochstein was known as much for his rebounding as his scoring. Standing just 6-4, his 308 rebounds as a sophomore were 12th best in the nation. The captain of the 1967-1968 squad, Hochstein is among a handful of Crusaders to average more than 20 points per game (20.2 ppg) for a career, as he scored his 1,174 points in just three seasons.  He was a first team All-New England and NABC All-District selection as a senior,  and was drafted by the Boston Celtics.
