Biography
Cavalieri participated in three
sports during his time at Holy Cross. Though only 5'9" and
weighing 175 lbs., he played line for the Crusader football
team. His breakout moment came as a junior when he
intercepted a lateral and returned it for a touchdown in a 27-0
shutout of Harvard. His line play was instrumental in a 33-0
victory over Brown in 1931, the College's first win in the
series. He also earned All-New England, All-East, and
All-American recognition.
A three-sport athlete at Holy Cross, Cavalieri was also a pitcher
on the baseball team and participated in track and field.
Following his career on Mount St. James, he went on to coach at
both Johnson High School in North Andover, Mass. and Arlington High
School, and he also entered teaching. He was inducted
into the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1980.
