Connor was a two-sport captain for the Crusaders in the early 20th century, captaining the 1905 and 1906 football teams, as well as 1906-07 men's basketball team.   He was regarded as one of the greatest ends in HC football history, and his inshrinement in just the second class of Hall of Famers confirms the high esteem in which he was held. Known as "Doc" during his days in Worcester, upon graduation Connor was ordained and served as a chaplain in both World War I and World War II.  Her served as the president of the Holy Cross general alumni association from 1936-39, and each year since 1959 a member of the Crusader football team has been given an award in his name, as the person they are most proud to have as a teammate.
