Natowich was a three-sport athlete at Holy Cross.  He played three seasons at halfback for the football team, and was part of the remarkable upset of Boston College in 1942.  He patrolled the outfield for baseball coach Jack Barry for three years and also played on the basketball team.  He played briefly for the Washington Redskins after graduation, and then spent 30 years as a high school football coach at Brattleboro Union High in Vermont, where in 1982 the field was dedicated in his name.
