WORCESTER, Mass. – Several Crusader athletic teams will be in action this week as student-athletes enjoy some time off from classes during Easter recess, which begins on Wednesday afternoon. The men’s tennis and baseball teams will each host games this afternoon as tennis takes on AIC at the Holy Cross Tennis Courts at 3:30 p.m. and baseball squares off against Hartford at Fitton Field at 5:00 p.m. Baseball returns to the diamond tomorrow, Wednesday, April 4, when Marist comes to Worcester for one game at 5:00 p.m. Eight teams will compete in 16 different events on Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8. Men’s and women’s rowing kicks things off on Saturday when the men travel to the George Washington Invitational at 8:00 a.m. and the women race against Boston College and Massachusetts at 9:45 a.m. The men’s and women’s track and field teams will be splitting up to compete in two different events on Saturday. Select members of both teams will travel to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the Tiger Classic while other members of each team will travel to Durham, N.H. to take on New Hampshire with Maine. Both meets are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. Baseball and softball will host its first conference games of the season with doubleheaders against Lafayette on both Saturday and Sunday. Softball is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. both days and baseball’s first pitches are set for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. A busy weekend atop Mount St. James continues as men’s and women’s lacrosse will each host conference foes on Saturday. The women’s team will take on Bucknell at 12:00 p.m. and the men’s team will battle Lafayette at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Field. The women’s golf team will close out the week’s action in the first day of competition at the Big South Championship on Monday, April 9, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
