WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men and women's track and field teams will conclude their 2008-2009 season on May 15-17, competing in the Outdoor Championship in Princeton, N.J. Qualifying members of both teams will compete in the championship.
The Holy Cross baseball team concluded the 2009 season by falling to Army in a best-of-three series in the Patriot League Tournament semifinals at West Point, N.Y., on May 9-10. On Saturday, the Crusaders dropped a 5-1 decision in the first game and then picked up a 5-3 win in the second game. On Sunday, the Black Knights won the third game, 11-0, advancing to the Patriot League Championship. Army will host Lafayette on May 16-17 for a best-of-three series in the championship series. The team finished the season with an overall record of 22-27 and an 11-7 record in Patriot League play. This season marked the first time in school history that the Crusaders played in back-to-back Patriot League tournaments. It also marked the first back-to-back 20-win seasons since the 1922 and 1923 seasons and the most wins in a season since 1978 in which Holy Cross had a 27 victories.
The Holy Cross men's rowing team will conclude the 2008-2009 season at the IRA National Championship in Gold River, Calif. on June 4-6. The women's rowing team concluded its 2009 spring season at the ECAC National Invitational Championship in Camden, N.J. on May 9-10. Due to rough water conditions caused by high wind currents, all final races planned for Sunday, May 10, were cancelled.
